Yeah, I think so... the way his voice sounds, it's really quite young. I loved it though, beautiful

I think the song was probably WROTE in the thriller era, but the vocals on there are new. It sounds like the recent voice to me. Especially in the background vocals and ad libs toward the end.

It was written in the Thriller era but is Dangerous vocals.

Some of the end is recent though, like the new bridge and such...

Someone said that on prince.org.:lol:.. I'm sure it is!

His voice sounds way different to the demo.

naaa naaa... the new version is completely new, the old one is from the Dangerous era I am sure, I dont know WHY it says its from the Thriller Sessions, maybe like one person said, it was written for Thriller but ended up being on the Dangerous Sessions instead

It really doesn't sound like it's from the Thriller days. His voice is too deep.

He could've released 'Work That Body' and 'She Got It' from the 'Thriller' sessions too

It may been written during Thriller...but he definitely didn't record it during the Thriller era. Earliest he recorded that was 1990.

I believe the basic instrumental tracks (drums, bass, rhythm guitar, some of the synths, all have a very distinct sound, clearly performed by the Toto fellows) and some of the of the background vocals (good example-- listen to the echoed vocals around 0:38 to 0:41 on the song when 'I'll do anything' is sung, the backing vocals have the softer, more nasal pre-Bad era MJJ aspect to them) are from the Thriller sessions 1981/1982 era. I believe the most of the 'our souls embrace' midsection also survives from the Thriller-era recording.

It appears the lead keyboard parts and embellishments (various electric piano sounds) and most of the lead vocals were added to/replaced earlier tracks during the sessions for what became the Dangerous album (around 1989). Also, I believe the orchestral flutes and string instrument embellishments were added around 1989/1990.

So, in total, I believe the basic structure of the song, most of the lyrics, much of the instrumental tracks, and some of the backing vocals, survive from the Thriller sessions, but that this song was reworked for possible release on the album that became "Dangerous" around 1989.

I believe some of the deeper backing vocals towards the end may have been added sometime even more recently, perhaps to finalize the mix for release as a bonus track on Thriller SE 2001, The Ultimate Collection or Thriller 25 specifically.

i put Dangerous, but now im second guessing.

anyway, i dont like the thriller rerecorded version. i think the 'demo' version has more of a smooth flow.

He wrote it during the Thriller session and he re-edited the song during Dangerous session.

The Thriller 25 tracklisting says Unreleased track from the Thriller sessions. A session means a RECORDING session, but it is clear the song was recorded during the Dangerous era.

I really donīt believe itīs from Thriller sessions. The song would most likely make into the album and if not then on The Special Edition.Besides his voice sounds "Dangerous".
