Yes, of course he is!

Ummmm ... sometimes he does things that MAY not seem VERY intelligent, but I am absolutely sure that everything he does is carefully planned and thought through, and that he has his reasons for doing whatever he does. Intelligent ... yes. Eccentric too ... definitely.

I think he is :yes: The one thing that really sticks out for me is when he bought the Beatles catalogue, he bought it for a 'ridiculously high price' according to everyone, but the value has gone up so much. How could he know it would happen? Because he's intelligent :D

I know some peoplethink some of the things he does, and has done, seem kinda dumb, but it's the same with [and forgive me for this horrible comparison] Jodie Marsh, everyone seems tothink she's a completely stupid girl, but she's got loads of qualifications - and not in modelling :yes:

Well yeah of course he is. Think of his mind for business, marketing, investing. That's intelligence. Then there's his music. He's eloquent, loves the arts. Maybe he's not typically intelligent, but he sure isn't dumb.

Well let me put it to you this way!! You don't get to where he is in his life and career by being dumb!! He is human,with a heart and feelings,he makes oopses like everyone else!! But business wise,you don't get a more shrewd person in the music industry than Michael Joseph Jackson!! He owns the Beatles Catalog,Half of Sony,STILL OWNS 2,700 acre Neverland Ranch,he went through hell and back through one of the hardest trial cases anyone should ever have to endure and get through and he did survive!! These are just a few of the many things and accomplishments he has achieved and done!! And He aint done yet!! To do all these things takes a very intelligent and courageous person,don't believe me!? Lets see you try to live even a week of his life!! Think you could do it!? I think Not!!

He is really, amazingly intelligent. I just don't think he gets a chance to show that side off of himself. And given what he's gone through in life, I am pretty sure he's gained a great deal of wisdom, as well. :yes: Anyone who reads DANCING THE DREAM can catch a glimpse of his intelligence and his wisdom and insight. While a lot of that has something to do with his intelligence, I think a lot of that that you mentioned is his strength and courage. Not really intelligence. When he dodges a question or can do something in such a sly way that only HE is capable of, now THAT is intelligence. Peolpe in the music industry fear him and wanna be him because he has all that a great business man should have and more.

It really all depends on how you look at it...If you deem less than an engineer non-intellegent, he's not...but if you consider it in a less formally educated way then of course...

Having said this, and realizing that intelligence is a subjective thing...i will just say this.... some of the most notable people in history didn't have a college degree..at least in america. Abraham Lincoln for one.

i'm not saying this to say that college is overrated, but i am saying this for people who think that college is the be all and end all.

i just know that there are graduates that have done things that have had a negative impact and a positive impact on the world..and non college graduates as well. so..lol..if i have left the impression that the idea of intelligence isn't as simple as it seems..well...good. lol

this one is for all the people that others would deem as 'slow'..and have accomplished great things in life.

so...i think that two terms that can never have any negativity attached to them, and that apply to Michael are...shrewd and wise.

but yeah..when it comes to true intelligence..and not the kind that someone thinks is intelligence, but turns out to not be...Michael is the genuine ariticle.

Yes, I think Michael is intelligent. Look at al the music he's made. He knows so much about it. If I wanted to seriously work with music, I would want Michael to teach me every thing he knows.

Look at all his books! He loves to learn and isn't stopped by someone telling him he can't do something. He always figures out ways to do something in a way that only HE can do it.

His books prove his need and desire to learn. Hence intelligence. :mellow: However, there is a difference between wisdom and intelligence. I think Michael has both. Elizabeth always found ways to describe him so that we can catch a small glimpse of who he really is. Really, he is intelligent (highly) but very trusting. I consider him gifted. :wub:

Michael is obviously extremely intelligent, but with art, human nature and business. Intelligent people are very often misunderstood like Michael is. I also do believe there's a very thin line between being a genius and being a little...well, different if you know what I mean.

You cannot judge someone's intelligence if you've never spoken to them or don't know them.
Obviously, it's a matter of how you define intelligent too.

Being trusting (or not trusting) has nothing to do with intelligence and being gifted doesn't either.

Your post reads like you think you should persuade me to realize that Michael is intelligent. You don't need to.
I too assume he is intelligent. The problem is that we know nowhere near enough to make this discussion anything other than wild speculations.

In a musical sense Michael is a genius. We know that, because we know his musical efforts.
As a dancer he is a genius. Same here.
And that falls under intelligence because he has learned to sing and to dance virtually alone. Yes, he was influenced heavily by Jacky Wilson and James Brown (dancing) and people like Stevie Wonder (singing) - and others too - but in his dancing and singing and songwriting etc. you can see what you tried to prove with his books.
That he grows from album to album, that he improves all the time and changes and grows as an artist.
That requires intelligence and determination and a lot of it. Talent alone is not enough.

But when it comes to his personal life and decisions we cannot make any reliable judgement because we know nothing of it (and it's none of our bees-wax).
