We felt the need to expand on the current rules and explain the reason behind them. Currently, everybody will need to read this post before viewing the rest of the forums. To make sure everyone has an understanding of how they should be behaving on this site.
Apologies for any inconvenience but we feel this is important.
The first thing to address here is that every incident is considered unique. We look into the different aspects of each individual situation and then decide what is the appropriate form of action to take.
The general rules are 5 offences and you will be temporarily banned for a significant amount of time. If you then return to this board and have not learned your lesson you will be banned permanently.
Within this time you may recieve a temporary ban depending on the nature of the rule breaking. Generally any extreme personal attack on another member or immediate violation of a moderators decisions or warnings will result in a temporary ban.
An in depth guide to the rules
Some of the rules are more important than others. This is an in depth guide to the most serious rules on this site, what you can expect to happen if you break them and why they are important for this site.
· You may only register 1 username.
There is absolutely no need for more than one username. Any secondary names will be permanently banned. Having second accounts can look suspicious. If you have a friend or relative who wishes to register on this site from your computer, this is fine but do please inform a member of staff to let them know you have not made the second account for yourself.
· At no point may you discuss topics of a sexual nature.
There is no minimum age for people to join this site. We may have members as young as 11 here and we need to make sure the site is clean and appropriate at all times.
Discussion of this kind will generally result in a warning level increase.
· Topics relating to Michael Jackson's very personal life are also not allowed.
This includes: His surgery, his children, his relationships, his financial affairs. We are not here to pick through his personal affairs. It is not our business. It doesn't belong on this forum. This will generally result in an increased warning level.
· We do not condone personal attacks on other members, if you have issues with someone else on the board, please keep it to yourself.
Or take it to PM and try to sort it out with them. Do not ever bring personal problems with other members onto this board. There is no need for drama here. This will generally result in an increased warning level.
· We will not tolerate the use of threads to hint about a member you have a problem with off the board. Do not indirectly cause trouble. If this is witnessed your post will be deleted and you will be warned.
This one explains itself. Do not go into Random Thoughts and make snide remarks about another member, even if you don't use their name it is always obvious what you are doing and this will not be tolerated.
· If a moderator closes, moves or deletes your thread/post for any reason, please respect their decision. If you feel their judgment is unfair, then use the PM feature to resolve the issue. Please treat the moderators with respect at all times. They are here for a reason.
If something has been removed or deleted do not repost it. If it's deleted again and you still repost it you are highly likely to receive a temporary ban for failure to comply and lack of respect for moderators decisions.
· The reasons behind the banning of a member may not be discussed on the board. If you are curious about why someone was banned, then please find out off the forum. Do not make a thread.
Do not make threads or PM staff asking why a certain member of the board was banned. If the member wishes for you to know they can inform you outside of the board, but staff will never make public the reason for a members ban. Members are never banned without good reason, you wont see everything that goes on behind the scenes. Please do not assume it's just moderators being power hungry. That is incredibly degrading on people that work very hard to keep this board in order. If you persist, you are likely to have your warning level increased.
· Trolling
If you join this site simply to troll expect to be banned permanently without a lot of warning. We honestly don't have the patience for anyone doing this. It's immature and boring. The internet has been around a long time now. People should know the correct etiquette by now.
Trolling is defined as:
-Stirring up arguments
-Putting the forum down and encouraging people to leave.
-Flaming other members
-Using several identities on a board to support your own arguments / stage pretend arguments
-Getting friends to join and post stupid things.
· Spamming
Spamming can be done in many ways. Including: Excessive low content posting to increase ones post count, double and triple posting, posting without any content, cross posting in multiple threads.
It is also promoting other websites or organizations by repeatedly referring to them in postings or advertising them on the profile pages of other members.
These are the most important rules and the ones that are likely to result in you getting in trouble. This does not mean any rule should be taken lightly. Please follow all of them, but pay particular respect to these.
Remember that moderators do not actually enjoy handing out warnings and bannings regardless of what some people might think. More often than not we try to find a way to handle situations without using these procedures.
If you want more information on any other rules, please feel free to PM me and I will either let you know personally or add to this post. Feel free to ask any other questions as well.
Thanks and enjoy the board!
