Dear Michael Jackson Fan Community

I am proud to announce that for the last few weeks I have been working in close contact with Matt Fiddes, close friend of the Jackson family.

Alongside Maximum-Jackson.com, and the North Devon Hospice we have organised a party to take place in North Devon, England, which will celebrate the success of the Jackson family, their arrival in North Devon and Michael Jackson’s 50th Birthday.

Members of the Jackson family will be attending, proof of which is a statement by Tito Jackson due to be published in the North Devon Gazette on Wednesday 30th April 2008 (I will upload a scan of the article as soon as possible), which reads:

"I can confirm that myself and some other Jackson family members will be in attendance at this event, we are all very much looking forward to spending time in North Devon, I can't wait to come back to Barnstaple."

Of course Michael Jackson has been invited, although at this stage we cannot say whether he will be attending or not.

The event is being on Sunday the 8th of June 2008, at the Durrant House Hotel in Northam, North Devon. Doors will open at 6pm, the event will start at 7pm and finish at 11pm.

We have some of the biggest names lined up to perform, including:

Danny Oliver
Glen Jackson
Jay Makwana
Kishantha

Those are just to name a few, more are to be confirmed soon.

ALL profits are going to the North Devon Hospice. Tickets are priced at £20 for a VIP table seat, £15 for a standard seated and £10 for standing. To buy tickets please visit www.mjjparty.com.

The date was more convienient for the Jackson Family as they have just moved to Devon And as it's more of a Jacksons Party, also celebrating Michaels Birthday they thought the sooner the better.

I'm guessing they have arrangements for other dates so this was the best suited.

Michael is not confirmed to be attending, but - an invite has been extended to him by his close and personal friend (former bodyguard) Matt Fiddes.

I hope that clears a few things up.

Holy Crap! I checked flights to London from Dublin to see if it was cheaper than flying to Exeter and then I could get a train from London to Devon....

FLIGHT ARE FREE!! Tax and charges are only €5

So I can get a return flight from Dublin to London for €10. Its going cost me more to get the bus from my house to Dublin airport than it is to get from Ireland to the UK

Well, some of us are fans of the whole family, not just Michael, so it's an opportunity to meet our idols! I'm lucky to have met Tito before, but it's a chance to celebrate Michael with members of his family! That's pretty cool! Also, for most of us it's just an excuse to hang out together as mates, regardless of who is or isn't there :) :yes:

For a lot of us, myself included, it's a pain in the backside to get to and from London all the time for events, so it's nice to have something a bit out of the way and nearer my own front door! From the sounds of it, it isn't a HUGE event anyway, and after the fiasco in Nov with ComeTogether being based in London and only selling 60 tickets in all the months they were on sale, it's no wonder this isn't in London! Plus, the whole Matt Fiddes link makes sense for it to be in Devon, as many fans have turned up there before for him and Tito etc!

I agree with you. Almost every party that's been organised Michael has been invited to and he HARDLY makes appearances. So, it is only fair to tell fans not to get their hopes up. I would be sad to see someone travel far in hopes of seeing Michael only to be let down. :dontknow: However, fans that want to believe he's attending, by all means! :)

I am convinced that at least 2 or 3 Jacksons will show up at the party, so if any of you (besides GC! LOL) like the Jackson family as a whole you should definately look into going! :)

If you want to go, you can choose to fly to London Heathrow (but you'll have to travel faaarrrr by train), or you could try Bristol airport or Exeter or Bournemouth if I checked correctly. Those are airports nearest to where you have to be.

I think pretty much everyone on here that I have seen are going are hardcore MJ fans.. the ones who follow Michael, his family everywhere. We all know the risks about whether Michael turns up or not but to me and many others it is definately a risk worth taking. If you don't take risks in the MJ world then you miss out. Plain and simple. At the end of the day, yes there will be disappointment if Michael isn't there but as a hardcore fan you learn to accept that, move on and have fun with the fans and the family anyway. I wouldn't like to think I didn't buy a ticket and Michael DID show up. I'd be devastated! I'd never forgive myself. I did that when MJ went to the Liz Taylor thing and I still haven't forgiven myself and that was 8 years ago! :eek3:

I have to travel for like 4 hours myself, and pay quite a lot. Devon isn't central at all for people in the UK to get to. I know 4 hours isn't long, but like, nothing will ever be on your doorstep.

No, it's not unfair. Michael travels to these places because he has business or even friends there, and the fans that live in London are just lucky to live in a place where Michael often visits because of that.

Michael can't visit each and every country individually 'just' so the fans that live there are happy. That's what world tours are for. If you want to see the man, save up and travel. That's the only way. ;)

I was gonna mention about travel, money etc but I thougt I better not.. but anyway... it takes me about 9hours to get to Devon and probs costs MORE than it does for someone to travel there from Germany, Denmark, France etc :lol: It's just a case of how bad you want something... if you want something THAT bad, you will do it..

It's cheaper to contact the hotel directly! I got a twin room for £80 for a night which isn't bad considering it's a 3*** hotel and is the venue for the event! Tho at the mo i have 2 beds and only 1 of me! LOL! D'oh!

I DO feel bad for the fans that live in places that Michael doesn't visit, cos it must be hard, but like many fans I don't live very near to London and it does cost me a lot to visit there and stay there whenever he does come over, and in many cases its cheaper for flights from Europe etc than it is for us to travel inside the UK! I got to Holland to see 3T for much cheaper than it cost me to travel in the UK to see Take That! And I dont' take holiday from work and keep any spare money saved just for these events, but I know it must be hard if others can't do that!

Tbh, he only visits once, maybe twice a year, so it's not like we are inundated with him coming over! It's not like we always moan about the fans in the USA who lived in the same country as him for all these years! He has been in Las Vegas for ages, but we don't moan at the fans based near there who see him! Or when he was in Ireland and people saw him there!

Well, if you travel from Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, you can get a train straight to Exeter St Davids, which is where all the people from London have to change at, as well.

Then from there, you can get a train straight to Barnstaple. It doesn't take too long. About 6 hours :eek:

The people who are going on the train from London will probably get on the same train as you when it stops at Paddington.

Im not sure, its probablly something to do with the cameras for the tv show being there. They must want to make a big entrance for the first episode and so are asking fans to be there.
