Is it just my browser or is the banner of the board too wide? I wonder if my browser (Firefox) shows this board correctly.

It depends on your monitor. What size is it and what screen resolution do you use?

My monitor has 21 inches and resolution is 1024 x 768.

What is the layout actually optimized for?

I think it's optimized for 1280 x 1024 which I have on my 19" monitor.
The banner is just over 1200 pixels in width. I'll see if there's a way to reduce that and let claire know.

Since probably most users use 1024 x 768, I think it would make sense to reduce that banner.

EDIT:
I was just noticing you fitted it.

You have to do with with tables. You just put the pic in and the table will automatically fit the banner depending on the screen.

I Don't want to get on your nerves, but... um... it's much too wide again. Maybe you should leave out the ebony picture?

This is currently how much wider it is for me. My monitor resolution 1024x768 as well.

I made a screen shot for you, in order that you can view it yourself. You can see
the wide scroll bar on the bottom.

You're better off making the banner the width of the actual forum boxes. Usually you can probably find out how wide it is by looking at the CSS codes or HTML codes.

It looks great though. It doesn't really effect the forum that much.

It looks great though. It doesn't really effect the forum that much.
The forum width is variable. Depends on your screen size. So you can't really make the banner fit all sizes. It'll be either just right, too small or too big.
