View Full Version : How Did You Become A Michael Jackson Fan?

I became a fan when my sister received BAD for her birthday. I had no idea who she was playing. Never heard of Michael Jackson before. The more she listened to it the more I grew to like him.
When Dangerous was broad casted on BBC1 back in 1991, we all stayed up to watch it & she recorded it. God knows how that video still works
She's not a fan anymore though, she doesn't care much for him. But she did borrow some of my CDs a few weeks back so there's still hope for her to come back & see the light.

How did you become a fan?

Well I heard him when I was little and my Mum use to listen to him while cleaning, and peeling potatoes.

But some time laterrr, I met Lou(RockWithLou) + she let her love for him out  and made me discover him again.

Mine is the same sort of thing, my mum used to listen to Thriller all the time when I was young and I loved it and decided to get all of his albums for myself and ever since I've been a huge fan. I'll never get bored of his music even though I listen to it so much. That's why I know I'll always be a fan.

I used to hate him to the core

then my late dad was watching MJ's 30th anniversary on TV and i switched to another channel.. i simply hated him (pardon me, i was so immatured)

and i argued with my dad because i wanted to watch something else but not MJ..

as a punishment, i was asked to sit down in front of the TV set and watch MJ..

and when Billie jean came around, i was blown away..

and then my dad tried to imitate the moonwalk which makes him look like a cartoon..:toofunny:

and i was hooked up since then LOL!

when i learn about who he truly is, i was really amazed by it..

I've made most of my friends fans!
*feels proud*

When I was younger, I remember Earth Song being on in the car my mum used to put it on REALLY LOUD and I'd always steal my mum's MJ CD's and play them in my room. It seriously was love at first sight with MJ. I used to secretly fancy him too and I'd get butterflies when I saw him on TV or something, at such a young age too! Ohh memories. I remember the commercial for history being on the TV too, and also an MJ documentart on TV where it showed him in the Oxygen chamber.

Well, that's not really how I became a fan it's more "my earliest MJ memories"

My favourite song has always been The Way You Make Me Feel.

Well I always kinda loved MJs music, I remember I was really really young and I found a wooly glove and was dancing around the house shouting IM MICHAEL JACKSON!!!! Also in 2001 when YRMW was on the radio loads, I was obsessed with that song. I remember hearing it on the way to school like Omg

Then much later on (2005ish) my friend lent me the Number Ones CD, and I was obsessed with Billie Jean. MJ was around on TV cos of the trial, I was always intrested seeing him but wasnt sure what to make of all of it.

Then my birthday that year I got given an iPod, I remember being in London that day and we went in to Dixons and they were playing DSTYGE on the TVs. I just sat there watching like  . Anywho I got my iPod and I put Number Ones on there, and then started getting obsessed with that album. I had it on repeat for like weeks!

I bought the Number Ones CD for myself and stuck the fold picture cover thing on my wall, used to stare at it like . For some reason he just amazed me. A few weeks later, I saw the Thriller video on TV, and I taped it. I watched it I was like :crazylol:, then I watched it again the next day, and the next and the next etc.

Obviously my intrest was growing, at school I kept on thinking about Mike and how hot he looked in the Thriller video. Decided to so some research and signed up to a few sites, started watching videos and performances, reading up on all sorts, and hey presto I was a good-olde fan.

Omg that was long :ninja:

Oh lordy, I've told this story so many times.

I originally found out about Michael when looking through a People book about major events and celebrities of the 20th century and one section was about couples. They showed Lisa-Marie and Michael Jackson. I asked my mom who Michael was and she said he was a very bad man and a pedophile.

I found a MIDI of Smooth Criminal and saw Mike's name on it so when I ended up liking the tune I felt really ashamed and just let it pass.

I was in CompUSA later on and heard AAF's Smooth Criminal over the radio and thought it was Michael, so I got even more afraid of him.

I was still kinda interested in him, but only to the point of looking up jokes about him...

Then came along June 13, 2005 and my grandmother calls me up telling me the verdict for the Michael Jackson trial was on TV. When he was declared innocent, I was so pissed off, but my friend (who isn't even a fan) told me that it was all a scam.

I looked up www.michaeljackson.com to see if Sony would have the balls to put up anything about the trial (not knowing about MJJSource) and I saw "Short Films" on the side... I thought it'd be a home movies type of thing so I clicked, just waiting for some cheesy and weird home video to come up, when I saw on there, "Smooth Criminal" as it was the only title I recognized (I knew nothing of Thriller, Billie Jean, et cetera) and I was shocked. I watched it over and over again for two days straight - apart from when I was sleeping.

I became a fan of his musical talent and dancing right then and there, but still thought he was a creep.

I found various articles on the 2005 case and realized it was a sham, but still thought he was somewhat of a creep.

Somewhere along the line, I found MJNO... and well... the rest was HIStory. You guys really helped me out in realizing that Michael is one of the greatest mortal humans ever.

Since I was a kid, I love watching people singing and dancing.

So my dad got a MJ LD (I think) and sat me beside him. So I was in love with him as a kid, but I kinda thought MJ is past tense once I got older and went on liking other artistes like Britney Spears, BSB etc. And with the charges etc, my impression was just really bad.

Is only last year when I searched about him on Wikipedia (One of my habits, when you are bored, search about famous people). I got really fascinated and watched his videos on youtube, ever since then, I was hooked!

I am not really sure how I became a Michael Jackson fan. I either became one on January 5th 1980. On that date I was a just a day old and American Bandstand was playing one of Michael's songs Rock With You for everyone to dance to. I know this thanks to VH1 who used to show American Bandstand. Or I became one sometime in 1984 when I was 4 years old. At that time I was really in to those Jackson 5 cartoons. OMG did I just loved watching them and Michael was my favorite character on those cartoons. Either way I've been a Michael Jackson fan for 20+ plus years. Is just that I am more of a fan now than I was then.

my parents had quite a few of the jacksons' records and i used to watch their vids on american bandstand...so one day, 'rock with you' was on american bandstand and i luv'd the colors and lights and such  this would've been in 1979...and i've been a fan ever since

oh vh1 wasn't around when american bandstand was still on :no2: **** clark's had that show since the 60s i believe...it was more of a live variety music show in the beginning and in the early 80s, **** clark would show random vids.

well, i had watched "moonwalker", so i thought he was an actor (hey, i was 8 years old  i had no idea who michael jackson was prior to this). So, i went to the nearest music/video store and asked for videos with the actor Michael Jackson. The sales-person then directed me to the music section of the store (with a  look on his face, ).... yeah. That's how it started :smug:

Mine was summer 1992 - I had gotten into Madonna (sooooooo over THAT now!) and the youth club I went to had a mix tape kinda thing with Mads on one side and MJ on the other. THey let me borrow it to make a copy (just a homemeade greatest hits tape) and for no reason I recorded both sides ... I was sooooo not bothered about MJ at ALL that I even recorded his side in high speed! LOL!

Anyways, I don't really remember the moment exactly, but I used to listen to this tape on repeat cos I loooved Madonna's old stuff, but obviously one day I couldn't be bothered to rewind the tape so just turned it over and listened to the other side instead ... I didn't pay much attention until I heard Beat It and Billie Jean! That's when I was HOOKED! I had never heard ANYTHING like that before!

I still really only liked Michael for his music (my chum was a fan and I used to take the mick out of her! LOL! How times have changed!) but about 6months after I got into his music they aired the Bucharest concert! I taped it and was hooked again cos I'd never seen anyone move like that before ;) However, I still wasn't a fan of Michael, just his artistry ...

Well, that soon changed! LOL! For Christmas (about a month after the concert was aired) my mum got me the Legend Continues/Making of Thriller double video boxset. I watched these on Christmas day and just fell in love with him right there and then! I'd never seen anyone so beautiful, sexy, shy, funny, talented (oh, did I say SEXY!!!!) inmy whole life and from that day forward it's been a rapid downhill spiral into MJ-induced lunacy :)

It scares me to think what may have happened if I hadn't recorded the other side of that tape! I've thought about it a lot ... I'm SURE I would have become a fan, especially since HIStory is my fave album & era, but then I don't know if I'd have been a fan in time to get into the era and go to the shows etc like I did back then! *scurred*

OMG I love reading all these, lol Lou you've made heaps of people fans!

I don't even know how I became a fan, I was bought up on MJ! I have videos of me when I was 5 or 6 singing my lungs out to Earth Song, my Dad also took me to him in 1996 when he came over to New Zealand  I remember bringing my MJ cds to school and showing them off, I was so proud of him!

It kind of all died down once I hit intermediate, I dunno. I just forgot all about him (I don't know how that was possible!) but my interest started up again around the start of the trial, from then on I watched everything on TV about him and basically followed the whole thing.. I remember when the verdict was read out, it was in school time so I begged my teacher if we could watch it coz I didn't wanna miss it... Once I heard not guilty I actually cried my eyes out, fully cried. I was just so happy.

That night I was lying in bed and I thought I'd listen to some music, so I had a look through my iPod and went to MJ.. I didn't realise I had any on there  I ended up playing YANA and that was it.. I spent the next 2 hours or so lying in bed mesmerised by his voice, listening to YANA on repeat.:lol: That was it! :D Now I'm back to how I used to be with MJ when I was little, no.. scratch that. I'm worse!

It all began with a tape Dangerous of my brother. And everytime I was in his room he listened to it. At that moment I was not that fan that I'm nowadays, but I thought the songs were great.

Then in the mid-90's my brother bought the HIStory album and I became more and more fan of Michael. I remember he came to Belgium in 1997 but the concert was delayed due to the death of Princess Diana at the end of August. And when I watched the news on the Belgian television I saw people were upset by this. I thought by myself: FFS a friend of his died and you are angry about the fact the concert is delayed??

In 1998 I guess my brother bought Blood on the Dancefloor and from that moment I was like: OH MY GOD THE KING OF POP! I definately like this song. It was aired all the time on TMF and MTV. And also some other songs ofcourse like Black or White and ofcourse Janet Jackson ;).

Now 10 years later I'm still a huge fan of Michael even I haven't had the opportunity to see a concert of him. He has visited only my country two times (in Werchter 1988 and Oostende 1997). Hopefully he'll tour again soon so I can see the master at work ;).

OK here we go

Twenty years ago I was born with cerebal palsy. The horrible stories are not lingering in my head, as I was too young, but getting to an age of nine, I noticed that something wasn't right. It was that I couldn't play on swings, play football or anything like that, but to help me was my very close friends.
It was hitting me at night time one night time as the normal routine was happening, you know, eating supper, then reading a book, then going to sleep. One night time we couldn't find a book to read, someone put the radio on about eight o'clock, you know about that time I used to think what a rare life I had, still listening to the radio, a song came on, it went a bit like this: 'another day has gone, I'm still all alone, how could this be, that you're not here with me.?' I asked quite quickly who is this? My carer said isn't it Michael Jackson, I said 'yes, but what is it called?' before the carer could say anything I heard the four words 'you are not alone', at that second I became a big fan. The carer that was here for eight years but has now gone, but I'm being helped by Michael to get over it. The carer said 'I've got the video', my mind went blank, I didn't know what he looked like and was he saving lives on the video, like he did mine? I borrowed it the next day and he looked so caring and innocent, and from there on I've been calling him my Dad, because my Dad left my Mum and when I was only young, this is creepy listen, when Michael was only five years old, he couldn't play football or go on swings, and he had got a Dad, but his Dad used to beat him up. There are so many comparisons that I can't think of them all right now.
Years ago I had a carer called Helen, we used to play babyish games because Mum couldn't play with me when I was young. In the end Mum got worried because I was fifteen gong on sixteen and we kept playing these games, but that's because I didn't get a childhood, like Michael didn't. She went two years ago, again, like the carer that went after eight years, Michael helped me, but for this carer it was a song called 'have you seen my childhood?'
Now I will get to where I was going in this story. I've got a better life but not a normal life. I get hurt from my hands hitting my head from the involuntary body movements I have, I have medicine three times a day, and every time I go into hospital I wear a T-shirt because I've seen Michael visiting hospitals, so when I wear a T-shirt with him on it, it's like he's with me.
I'm not joking, but you can forget this part if you don't believe me, last year I had to go into hospital for a big back operation and they had their own radio station, which I don't think you can request any songs, but on the morning of the operation, what came on the radio? 'another day has gone, I'm still all alone, how could this be. that you're not here with me?'. That's right it was 'you are not alone', obviously by Michael Jackson. It took fourteen days to get over the operation, but as you can guess, it wasn't only the family and careers that helped me get over it, it was like Michael in spirit. No more songs came on, except for the one that Mum did request.
Unlike 'you are not alone', that was a year ago, but two years ago something disgusting and disrespectful happened to Michael, he was accused of child molestation. If I could have been in that courtroom I would have, but because I can't get on a plane because I cannot sit in a plane seat, they will not let a chair on board, which I find disgusting and bias, anyway I would have had to pay two carers. But I know that Michael believes in all of his fans that were supporting him through the awful trial. So don't you get it? I eat, drink and breathe for Michael. So if it wasn't for Michael's song, 'you are not alone', I wonder if i would still be eating or drinking, or in a corner of a room rocking back and forward, or hey, I've got to be truthful, I might not even be here. Thanks to Michael, I feel that I can conquer anything, because Michael loves his fans, if you don't believe me about him being a lifesaver, do go on the internet, there is a website that has a story about a woman, he saved her life, and she became a fan, the same way I became a fan.

^^^^awww That is really nice sam! I liked reading your story! :) Also I was sure to read everyone else's stories too and they're GREAT! :)

Well To make a long story short lol...

I started liking Michael about 5 years ago this month...I saw him on a variety of TV shows....one was "The history of Michael jackson's face" which wasn't a very nice one...then there was another show of him on that same night at the same time (we kept switching the channels) and it was actually my brother who wanted to watch it...it was LWMJ and I only saw little bits of it...and at first I thought he was a bit weird...but I didn't know much about him...I did think I would buy one of his cd's at the time cause I always liked his music when I was young...

Then a couple weeks later I saw "The Footage You Were Never Meant to See" and I got to see more about him and what he was like as a person...and I remember I related to him a lot especially his love for children (and I had just started working with kids a couple months before) and I was really touched and loved the story that Debbie Rowe told about the birth of his first child...and I just thought he was really interesting and sweet...

Then a few days past that I didn't really think of him...then I thought of him again and how I related to him...and I researched him online and found out a lot of coincidences I had with him...and I eventually bought the History CD and listened to his music all the time after that...

But I just loved how he loves children and how he's helped them the most... and I have always wanted to talk to him about it ever since...and tell him some things I want to accomplish for children...it's one of my goals to talk to him about children...and I just can't talk about children enough haha!

Anyway there's my shortened version of my story! I see him more as a friend than me being a fan...cause I'm not really a fanatic...I just like his music and who he is a s a person :)

It was when Thriller was realised. My sister was into him and I had never heard of Michael.
I remember her singing and asking me to watch it with her.
Even though I was impressed, I was into Shaken Stevens too much at the time lmao
But I did start to fall for Michael.
When the time Bad was realised I was already obsessed. Pics on my wall, covered. You couldn't see any wall paper.
When I first watched Bad, I was taken back in such a way, it changed my life forever.
I knew then, that I was *in love* lmao
After I went to the Bad concert in Wembley, my obsessed became very unhealthy.
I was known as ******* in school. Even the teachers called me that.
I wore this jean jacket with a huge pic of MJ on the back, a few MJ patches on the front, and it was covered in MJ badges.
I still have that coat today. I think it must be about 21 years old.

I have out grown the obsession now, because I am all grown up ;)
My family & friends are more important to me now.
BUT Michael is still my number one idol and I would marry him in a flash.
I adore him so much.... God, I love him.

I wanted to marry Michael since the moment I saw him.

They were showing his concert on the TV & I just fell in love. I was no more than like 5 years old . Michael's performance was very emotional & the people in the audience were crying - It was just too much for a 5 year old kid, I started crying myself. I remember I couldn't sleep that night.

I didn't know anything about him until 7 years ago. I had this really odd impression of him as a child and was very confused by him haha.

I became a fan of him when I was 11 years old. I was in hospital with severe asthma and so cause my parents had to spend a lot of time with me they were sending my brother to the movies a lot. One of these included a trip to see Rush Hour 2 and he came back raving about his cool song he'd seen Chris Tucker dancing to. He eventually found out what the song was and was inspired to go out and buy HIStory.

...and so it began.

I always heard of Michael Jackson and that he was one of the greatest dancers and all. When I was like 9, my friend next door had the Bad album and used to talk about him a lot. I grew curious about him. Then after Michael was supposed to come here for the Dangerous tour, Pepsi sponsored a weekly Michael Jackson TV series.

I still remember the first of those. They played Bad (Pepsi commercial), Billie Jean (Motown 25th) and then Black or White. I recorded the music and played over and over. Then I came to know that another one of my friend's dad was an MJ fan and that he had the Dangerous album. I used to go there and listen to it.

Then the allegations broke out and things were quite for a couple of years. But it all started again with the HIStory tour. That is when I actually went out and bought the albums one by one. I knew from then on, that I'll always be his fan :D

I Became a Michael Jackson Fan,Wayyyyy back in 1975!! I was 5 years old! Back in the 70's what was popular entertainment then were tv shows called variety shows! Artists such as "Sonny and Cher" "Tony Orlando and Dawn" and of course "The Osmonds" were on various tv channels certain nights of the week, dancing and singing on these shows and also performing skits/mini acting performances! "The Jackson's" tv show is the first time I can remember seeing Michael on tv with his brothers and sisters! The show only lasted one season but I can still remember it to this day,it was never hailed as a great tv show, but for some reason even though I was only 5 years old, something inside me told me to focus on Michael, even then something about him stood him apart from the rest of his siblings,he has stated in "Moonwalk" his autobiography he hated doing this show, but even so I can clearly remember something about him even then was unique and magical!! That was 33 years ago,I'm now 37 going on 38!! I've lived through watching Michael go from wearing,An Afro,Sequined Jump Suits, doing The Robot,to Jheri Curls,Red leather jackets,White Sequined Glove,Moonwalking,to longer and shorter hair,Classier Suits, even more Magical dancing!! I've witnessed "The Thriller" era!! Lived through "Michaelmania"!! Watched him go from very shy, quiet polite, very giving person!! To a now much stronger, more outspoken, physically and spiritual, almost 50 year old wonderful man!! I've seen Michael in concert Sept 7th 2001 at the "Michael Jackson,30th Anniversary" in NY!! I've seen him go through hell and back through hidious, and disgusting and totally untrue allegations, and of course that nightmare trial of his life!! As a 5 year old girl I think I can say that lil girl I was liked alot what she saw on tv, and even as that 5 year old she listened to that voice inside her tell her don't forget that guy you saw on tv something about him will have you connected with him forever!! When "Off The Wall" and then "Thriller" came out, that 1975 tv show did come back to me almost like that voice again telling me "see told you so!!" He was phenomenal he was everywhere, and I became a very big fan of his buying up,buttons, and pins,a imitation "Beat It" jacket, posters, etc!! When I saw him live it had taken me 6 months of 12 hour days 7 days a week to save up $$ to go see him,(I had other bills to pay for is why I needed so much money) but I was determined to watch him perform at least once in my life no matter what I had to do I was going to do it in order to finally watch the man I've looked up to since I was 5 doing what I've only seen him do on tv live in front of me,and he was worth every cent!! I sat approx 100 feet above from where he sat on the right side of the stage, and could watch his back and his handsome face sitting right below me!! Then later he performed with his brothers first that was awesome too as I've always been a Jacksons/J5 fan too!! Then solo he was Magical!! From 1975 to Present I'm still amazed and in awe of whenever Michael releases or does something,he's an extraordinary performer, there is no one else like him!! Not just onstage but in real life he has an aura about him that draws you to him!! At times he acts like a child yes!! For the child inside him that never really had a chance to be a child due to working since he was 5 years old!! At times he does revert to the grown up man he has become,he has to with what he's endured and also because of the magical career he has created and also because he is a father and nothing matters more to him than his children!! I know this first hand!!
I became a Michael Jackson FAN in 1975!! I became a Michael Jackson FRIEND in 2001!! I Love and Care for Michael Jackson, dearly and I always will!! God Bless You!! Keep The "FAITH!!" MJ'sDoll!! :ok::yes:

I became a fan when my eldest brother first showed me the We are the World video. When it came to Michael, I didn't recognise him, I was just like OMG! OMG! who is this hot and handsome guy?! and my brother told me it was Michael. His voice, his looks, his outfit and everything else was like heaven to me and I immediately fell in love with him. :blush2: I soon started downloading video after video and song after song of his. I couldn't stop, I was really crazy about him, still am and will always be! :lol2:  That's how I became a fan. And you know what, believe it or not, ever since 11 Dec 2004 till now, that has not been even one day which I have missed without hearing Michael's voice. Whether through song, video, interview or whatever!

Apparently my cousin had the Moonwalker game, I got obsessed, asked for HIStory when I was 7 for Christmas, and thought he was even better than the Spice Girls.

I wouldn't have called myself a fan, though.

Then on Feb 3rd 2003 when I was 14, Living With Michael Jackson aired. I watched. I fell in love again. And here I am.

No looking back now lol.

mine is a bit of a complex answer. LOL

I was raised by a very conservative christian family. I mean the kind that doesn't let their kids go to walmart because they might see something ungodly.

I heard about Michael in a sermon. Really, honest to god. That was the first time I ever heard of him. Someone was calling him a crazy, ungodly, trashy pop star that ought to burn in hell for singing music that wasn't all about Jesus.

Rebell that I was, I thoguht, well, they said Dairy Queen was evil and it wasn't. I'm gonna check this guy's music out.

And I did. At the library. The only CD they had was 'Danergous'.

I turned it on in my little CD player, hiding in my closet lest I get caught. three measured into the 'Jam' I was hooked.

So... LOL! I'm glad I gave him a chance rather than thinking he was just another 'hell bound' pop singer.

My parents were huge fans of Michael... especially after Motown 25, I think my mum found out she was pregnant with me around that time. And as if by sheer coincidene the premier for Thriller on TV occured 12 hours before I was born lol!

Anyway, my parents were huge fans, it had an effect on me. Anything MJ related I wanted I got, posters, books, vinyl tapes you name it, I got it because my parents thought MJ was a good influence and a good role model for me to look up to. Whenever there was a new MJ video premier or documentry my parents taped it for me. :D  OMG, I remember the first time I saw TWYMMF and I declared to my mum I was going to marry MJ... I was only 5! My mum was like.. yeah, whatever! lol.

I remember my dad being particuarly pissed off at the 1993 alegations.... Meh.

I grew up with MJ in my life from day one. But I don't think I became right proper in to him until I was about 13 or 14. I was watching Moonwalker one night and I thought it was absolutely facsinating. I think I watched it 9 times that weekend, I was completely mesmirised. Just thinking about it now is making me grin... it was pretty damn magical

So before you knew it, I'd joined MJNI, I was calling up YANA members and making friends, going to record fairs etc. Within time I was online making friends, many of which I'm still friends with to this day.

Hey, just thought this thread would be a cool to make. :)

I became a fan in 2003. I never really knew about mike and his music until then. It all happened so fast really.. :O It was the day he was arrested in 2003 and I was like "Oh whose this singer? I want to find out more about him!!" so I did. I bought all of his albums and did alot of research on him and really liked him.. and then I found MJNO and decided to register on there which is where I met my GF.. :)

How did you become an MJ fan?? :D

here is my story enjoy!

From Sam xx sorry for what is in my sig:lol:

I cant remmeber becoming a fan, its like i was born into it. I cant remmeber the day when i first saw Michael, when i first heard his music, it just feels like its something ive had with me all my life.

Ive forever been known in my nusery, primary school and comprehensive school and now college as kirsty the obsessive michael jackson fan. I remember toy days in nusery all the kids would bring these brill toys and i would only wanna bring moonwalk the book and i just sit and show the other kids the pictures and tell them i wish he was my daddy lol. My earlist memory was seeing Moonwalker on the Tv and going crazy to my mum like 'MAM THERES A MICHAEL JACKSON FILM!' i was hooked on that film when i was little.

I dont know what started me loveing Michael it was a sort of fasination i think being younger. I was never brought up on him by my parent, they wernt big fans, it just sorta was already inside me, in my blood and heart, just always being a mj fan, always <3

There's not really a story as such because I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. I just grew up listening to his music, he was my first crush as a little girl and as I got older and able to find out more about him as a person I just fell more and more in love with him. I used to dance around in my room pretending to be at a concert (as i never got to go to a real one) still do sometimes, and I'd dance around in my back yard to my BAD & Dangerous albums blaring out! I'd drive my mother insane watching Moonwalker over and over again lol. I just have so many great memories that relate back to Michael and I love and am proud to be an fan, there's nothing else like it.

i became a fan when the Bad album came out and my youngest brother got a copy of it on tape but he wasnt so interested in it. I picked it up and listened to tha album and I loved it. The video for BAD really appealed to me and I thought WOW who is this guy and then after that I began to find Magazines realting to Michael in shops and also fna mags which i bought and read from cover to cover over and over again. Once I got those I realised that I wasnt the only fan and that there was more. I also started to decorate my room MJ Style and collected everyting I could find on the man. Yes I was hooked and I still am.

i became a fan in late 2003 about when living with mj was on cause i remeber wtching it thinking he was wierd  which got my mum in a michael jackson mood (shes a fan) so a few nights later she put on her moonwalker video it was night time all my bros and sis were playing upstairs and i wasnt interested so i stayed downstairs to watch the video with my mum it took her a few mins to convince me that mj in moonwalker was the same from LWMJ  but after i watched that i was hooked!! i spent the next few days looking through all my mums albums looking for mj ones lol i didnt know the name of any of them so i was just blindly searching them all
