I have a suggestion. Is it possible to make a forum devoted soleyto fan-fiction that is in progress and a separate forum for comments associated to fan-fic.

Often times when reading a story you have to scroll through 2 pages of comments to get to the next chapter of the story. I think this suggestion could help with that, for example:

Forum 1
MJ Fan-Fiction in Progress

Forum 2
Comments to MJ Fan-FIc stories: If people really feel compelled to discuss a particular fan-fic story in progress they can post their comments in this forum.

I think this method works best because it does not interrupt the flow of a good story.

Just a suggestion.

yeah that's a great suggestion!!! I hate having to sift through all the comments just to try and find the next chapter...it gets frustrating.

I like when the writer just puts the links to each chapter in the first post. That way everyone can comment on the story in that thread, but if you need to jump to a chapter without sifting through, you just go to the first post and click on the one you need.

I like when the author places the links to their chapters in the first post also, I wish all the authors would do that. I won't complain though I think the fan-fiction here is great, there are some talented writers on this site.

I agree. I think an index is a good suggestion to writers I do that I know what it's like to sift through comments (sometimes you can't help but read the comments and it spoils it for you) It's good if you have about fifty chapters on the run

Don't know about the break down of comments and stories, but the index is def. a good idea

I agree with this, I find it easy to go the first page for chapters.

I think a lot of people are going to skip commenting on a story if they have to jump forums and find the right thread to be able to comment on the story. And that would be a shame. I imagine that comments are very important to the authors and what keeps them going. The authors making an index in their first post is a great suggestion IMO.

Totally agree with this -comments can be great! A better solution would be for authors to index. It'd feel really different and distant without comments
