Ok help me! I need a hotel for 8 nights in London... for a reasonable price 80 pounds or less (but must have OWN bathroom cos ... we're princesses.) and its gotta be close to central london cos we figure cost of transport is gonna be stupid.

For those of you wanting to stay near the 02 there's a Travelodge Docklands which is just a coupla tube stops away and you can actually see the 02 from the carpark!

While I can't really name loadsa hotels (cos I don't know the names) I can recommend the area around Bayswater as being quite reasonably priced B&Bs etc, while still only 5mins bus ride from Michael hotels and Oxford Street etc. Paddington isn't too bad for cheaper hotels. As long as you don't mind the bare basics and just want a place to crash for the night, then they are quite decent ... I think me & Suzanne got ours with en-suite for about £190 in total for 3 nights (so between the 2 of us) which isn't bad for how close to the centre it is

Is anyone familiar with Croydon? Is it far from the o2 and the rest of London? Is the transportation reasonable to London, O2, Heathrow Airport etc???
